Nicholas Burtner is the Founder and Director of the School of Permaculture which holds in-person and online courses from a homestead in Plano and farm in Ben Franklin. Nicholas, has a strong Jesus-centered faith, is a family man, and is an aikido instructor who promotes peace while teaching Permaculture to help people find a more meaningful and purposeful life.
He directs operations at both the farm and suburban demonstration sites for the school. Since 2012, he and his team have worked on a large and varied number of permaculture projects including: farms, ranches, suburban homesteads, public parks, apartment complexes, and college campuses.
He has received his permaculture education and training from some of the best, the co-originator of permaculture, Bill Mollison in Melbourne, Australia, Geoff Lawton at Zaytuna Farm and has attended the Earthship Academy for natural and recycled building construction, under Michael Reynolds in Taos, New Mexico.
